Master of Addiction Science
The USC Master of Addiction Science (MAS) is designed for students interested in transdisciplinary and inter-professional approaches to the study of addiction. The purpose of the MAS is to prepare graduate students for work in social work, public health, pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, other healthcare related fields, or professional careers within biotechnology research and development with a focus on addiction prevention, treatment, and research.
Minor in Addiction Science
The Minor in Addiction Science focuses on the scientific study of the nature, causes, consequences, prevention, intervention, and treatment of the broad spectrum of addiction and addiction-related problems. Students will acquire an understanding of how addiction science can bridge the gap between science, practice, and policy, to educate and be educated by those impacted by all addictive behaviors, including both substance and non-substance addiction. The courses in this minor take a real-world approach, recognizing that addictive behaviors exist within a complex environment involving commercial-economic, political, cultural, and social forces.
