Institute for Addiction Science (IAS) was launched in 2018 and is a new partnership between the Keck School, the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of School of Social Work, and 55 addiction expert faculty from eight different colleges and schools and sixteen departments across the university.
IAS was originally funded by the USC Office of Research, the Keck School of Medicine and the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. IAS has since received funding from the Red Rosebud Foundation.
IAS aims to leverage the existing base of addiction experts and outstanding infrastructure at USC to reach actionable short-term goals aligned with our long-term mission.
In the first year of operation, IAS has made profound strides in the efforts to achieve goals in three main areas: science, education & training, and community engagement & dissemination.
